Shrubs
The term 'shrub' is a loose term designating plants with woody stems that do not get as tall as trees. Because it is such a broad term, there are literally thousands of different varieties. Instant Shade carries a few hundred of the newest and most popular varieties along with the traditional standards that you're used to. We take great pride in selecting plants that perform well in our area allowing you to confidently shop our yard with the knowledge you will be taking home plants that work.
The plants in this section are winter-hardy in our area and are either evergreen or deciduous. However some shrubs, like crapemyrtle and vitex, may die back down to the ground in a particularly cold winter and re-grow from the roots. See the individual plant descriptions for details.
Most shrubs are listed by the size of the container (ex. #3/5 = 3 or 5 gallon). Others may be field-dug and are listed accordingly.
