Plants in this section typically die back down to the ground through the winter. They 'wake up' in the spring with the increased temperatures and sunlight. Most plants in this section are flowering plants. Flowers differ in time of year, duration, type, color and many other attributes. A few plants, like hostas, ferns, coralbells and lamb's ear, are known mostly for their foliage and not their flowers.
